A rare matcha shaped by the terroir of coastal Kyushu.

From the serene valleys of Higashi-Sonogi in Nagasaki, this Limited Reserve matcha is crafted from the prized Samidori cultivar, known for its natural sweetness and velvety depth. Shaded beneath traditional warakake straw for over three weeks, the leaves develop a layered umami before being gently finished with Nagasaki’s signature roast.

Stone-ground in small batches, the result is a vibrant ceremonial matcha with creamy texture, soft sweetness, and delicate nutty-floral notes. Produced in limited quantities each year — only 6,666 cans — this reserve captures the quiet elegance and craftsmanship of Sonogi’s renowned tea tradition.

+ Crafted for: Ceremonial matcha (Usucha)
+ Flavor Profile: Rich umami, natural sweetness
+ Tasting Note: Creamy, nutty, delicate floral finish
+ Ideal Use: Traditional tea, matcha latte, daily ritual

What is Saemidori matcha?

Absolutely one of Japan's most prized cultivars. Saemidori was developed in 1969 by crossing Yabukita with Asatsuyu — known for its vivid emerald color, natural sweetness, and high L-theanine content. FKRŌ uses 100% Saemidori sourced from family farms in Japan.
